no thunderbolt with amd laptops at the moment
- lvturner 6y agoDo you know of any intel based machines that work well with thunderbolt docks and are worth considering?
- jeppesen-io 6y agoDell XPSs are very good
- callahad 6y agoVery happy with my (5th generation) ThinkPad X1 Carbon running NixOS and connected to a Toshiba Thunderbolt 3 dock. Everything works just perfectly.
- jeppesen-io 6y agoTrue, but often you can use type c support. I'm using a type c plug to run my monitor, USB hub and charge my amd laptop right now Asus g14
- lvturner 6y agoI should specify these are USB-C thunderbolt docks, attached to LG 4K Ultrafine monitors + USB Keyboard and mouse. The whole USB-C/Thunderbolt split still confuses me so apologies if I'm making terminology mistakes :)
- lhl 6y agoThis particular laptop doesn’t have USB-C DisplayPort support either. It does have Power Delivery though, I’ve measured up to 90W.
