I’ve not used Symphony for a year or so but it felt like the kind of thing my team could have built in a couple of months. I wouldn’t use it in the same sentence as Bloomberg, other than to say Bloomberg has nothing to worry about.
- JackFr 6y agoI think Symphony is terrible, and it does look like something one could code up in a weekend. But ... If the banks mandate that their traders use something else, they will. I don't think they're quite there yet, but Bloomberg is not all powerful.
- user5994461 6y agoAgreed, it's irrelevant with Bloomberg. However it's a good story of making software in a very crowded domain and getting large enterprise customers right away nonetheless. Symphony is certainly is a catastrophe for Slack, a last minute competitor capturing all of the big financial firms.
