Not sure why amznthrwaway is being voted down, but he has a good point.
Americans are used to others having to tiptoe around their sensibilities, and now they're finding out what adhering to a foreign culture's value system is like.
- CyberDildonics 6y agoThere is a big difference between not spoiling the 'america #1' for a big target audience and not talking about human rights violations to avoid being locked out by a government. One is about the sensitivities of the people buying, one is about a government forcefully taking over a country and that government stopping you from saying anything about it.
- wolco 6y agoI think he is being voted down for many reasons but not for the point you make. When someone makes statements calling all American racists against non-whites they forget millions of non-white American people they casually toss aside to make their point. In this day and age can we move past that the false premise that all Americans are white?
- bonestamp2 6y agoI'm not disagreeing, but I also don't know what you mean. I'm trying to imagine something, say for example, Sony would have to prevent users from doing on their gaming platform that would otherwise cause millions of American Playstation fans to stop using their consoles. I tried to think of a sports league analogy, but I don't think there are any foreign sports leagues that are popular enough here to make a proper analogy.
- Symbiote 6y agoShow a nipple?
- creato 6y agoThere are plenty of nipples on cable TV (and the internet). What you can't do is broadcast a nipple on over the air TV.
- catalogia 6y agoThere are many American cable TV channels that forbid nipples simply because advertisers forbid it. Exceptions to this, channels like HBO, are able to show nipples because they aren't beholden to advertisers.
- bonestamp2 6y agoI think that would grow the number of Playstation users. Microsoft would have to add nipples to compete.
- kodablah 6y ago> Americans are used to others having to tiptoe around their sensibilities Always seemed quite the opposite to me, so much so that the most ardent opposition to "American sensibilities" is from inside America itself.
