What Are Federal Law Enforcement Officers Doing in Portland?
- verdverm 6y agoHmm, they cite a tweet which cites a clip from the News-Political complex. Is this where research in journalism had sunk to?
- smt88 6y agoWhat a ridiculous thing to focus on. They also cite tweets by DHS and White House leadership. Trump has repeatedly commented himself about how he has directed federal law enforcement to operate in Portland. If that's not enough for you, what exactly is? Is it hard to believe that someone who openly admires every authoritarian in the world and has repeatedly tweeted authoritarian threats would support this?
- hindsightbias 6y agoThis is a dry run. “The goal of such operations would be to increase the fear and stress levels in big cities with significant minority populations that overwhelmingly vote Democratic to depress turnout” https://www.balloon-juice.com/2020/07/17/the-federal-police-operations-will-not-stay-in-portland/ https://www.balloon-juice.com/2020/07/17/the-federal-police-... https://www.balloon-juice.com/author/adam-silverman/ https://www.balloon-juice.com/author/adam-silverman/
