It is possible to use CSS to have justified text with hyphenated line breaks. Font technology like Opentype will manage ligatures etc. I feel like the basics of laying out glyphs are all there. What doesn’t feel so great is page filling, and knowing how to break sections so that one doesn’t have a new section at the bottom of a page with only a few lines of text.
