How do you think the US was founded? We are the strongest nation because we have the strongest military. Where would the US be without it's military? At best we could be Japan, but even they have their own military, and rely on ours to protect them.
- atlasunshrugged 6y agoAgreed, also because geography has thus far protected us from most major modern wars so we were able to avoid the catastrophic damage to infrastructure (and lives lost) that afflicted most of Europe and even Asia in WWII
- fit2rule 6y agoThis belief serves only to propagate the evil. (Also, the USA is not the strongest nation in the world by many measures: health care, education, infrastructure.) Children are being murdered in cold blood every single day by the US military. You don't see it if you live in America's propaganda bubble - therefore its "not your problem as a citizen" (it fucking IS though) - but millions of non-American citizens see the results of America's callous and evil wars, and we don't think its so grand that your nation requires such death and destruction in order to maintain itself.
- Waterfall 6y agoDo you have a meaningful reply to my question or do you just have a rant that has nothing to do with what I just asked?
- fit2rule 6y agoWhy do I have an obligation to answer to your justifications for endless, evil war? Your position is, in my opinion, just plain evil. How about you think about what the US military is doing to the world, educate yourself about the real cost to humanity, and then we can discuss it. Because all you are doing is parroting the death cult mantra that your military is the best because you need it and it has to be used 'or else'. Clearly, you have not understood something: Iraq lost 5% of its population to America's illegal war. Yemen is currently being GENOCIDED with US military support. The world is literally littered with evidence of America's heinous crimes against humanity, and many, many war crimes. Not to mention a terrorism regime like no other. What you think is an honourable and necessary effort, is truly just dire evil. If any other country in the world was doing what America thinks it has a God-given right to do, they'd have been glass parking lot'ed into oblivion already. But, because America has a very large threat to use in bullying other nations around (its nuclear arsenal, its ridiculous navies), nobody can stand up to that evil. Just like a psychopathic organism engaged in endless evil acts, America will have to self-destruct instead, and indeed - that is what is happening today.
- Waterfall 6y agoCivility? To your post I can reply that ducks have very long corkscrew penises, which has nothing to do with your post and is what you're also doing when you reply. Discussions happen when people are speaking to each other not one ranting at a question.
- fit2rule 6y agoCivility? How about you take an honest look at the evil that the US military and its death cult has brought to the world, and then we can be civil. There is nothing civil about justifying the utter evil that the American military complex is enacting on the world. Your attempt to avoid confronting that issue is very telling. It is scary, especially if you are a citizen whose military is responsible for these crimes against humanity. It will come back to you, citizen, eventually.
- Waterfall 6y agoI simply asked 2 questions: How do you think the US was founded? Where would the US be without it's military? You are avoiding it, not me.
- fit2rule 6y agoYour non-sequitur America-first questions are really irrelevant to the discussion of whether or not we should be content with the US' death cult recruiting children for its illegal wars. Where do I think the world would be without the US military today? There'd be millions of innocent people - mothers, fathers, children - still alive, building their own nations into a better place to live. Mosul wouldn't be a burning pile of rubble, Raqqa too. There wouldn't be millions of innocent victims buried under the rubble that American citizens put them under. Maybe those of us in the West who enjoy these things could even have a vacation in the cradle of civilisation in Iraq and Syria, and actually enjoy the cultures of these peoples instead of reviling them. If it didn't spend a trillion dollars a year on death and destruction of cultures it fears, America would easily have what it needed to offer its citizens world-class education and health care at similar standards to the rest of the western world. Clean water for its children. Perhaps, if Americans hadn't all signed up to their death cult, they'd have the funds for a better response to the pandemic, and maybe .. here is a cool thought .. average American citizens would have the skills to learn the languages and read the books of the cultures they fear so much today, instead of signing up to callously and evilly drop bombs on 'evil' (innocent) people whose language they can't even speak.
- tomcooks 6y agoIs the US also "protecting" southern Italy with its military bases, or Germany, Spain, Afghanistan and all the other 600 places certainly set up to "protect", nothing to do with cultural and economical hegemony (which you admit yourself by thinking the us is the "strongest" nation)? Moreover, where does the supposed protection and strength of a nation go when a temper tantrum baby of a president decides he's too cool to comply to NATO agreements? This is the modus operandi of a bully, an invader, an exploiter - certainly not that of a protector. Enjoy the kool-aid.
- fit2rule 6y agoIndeed, the irrational support of America's war crimes and crimes against humanity indicates entanglement in a death cult. And just like any cult, it will take a great deal of effort to remove individuals from the mindset they have adopted in order to feel as though they belong to a powerful in-group. Which is the precise mechanism the cult recruiters in this story depend on, in order to earn their daily bread, incidentally.
- Waterfall 6y agoThe US did that to prevent another war, after 2 world wars who would have though Europe was responsible enough for itself? NATO has been the reason why there has been such lasting peace. >This is the modus operandi of a bully, an invader, an exploiter - certainly not that of a protector. So America plundered Japan and Germany? If they actually invaded them and overtook them they'd be part of the US now. The US saved the world from another world war, and they are the bullies? You can make a case out of some but NATO has been good for most of the world.
