Is the Future Socialist?
- ggm 6y agoIs this the decade we discussed universal basic income seriously? Are we markedly more economically literate than we used to be collectively? Is MMT a thing? Is monetarist Chicago school intervention in nation states exploded? Do we all hate Ayn Rand and Peter Theil and Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos? Is anti unionisation a thing on the ICT worker front? If we have UBI then the meaning of "work" and "pay" shifts Social utility maximising behaviour...
- schwartzworld 6y agoOoh a political article that starts with an Elon Musk quote. Communism has "failed" in a lot of places, mostly due to the US strongly intervening to make it so. Why does the "success" of captialism not have to account for the millions of people suffering in abject poverty? Or the toll on the environment? Or the deaths caused by American embargos / sanctions? They have better medical care in Cuba than in the US, despite being under an embargo for more than half a century. BTW, Elon Musk is the son of a family that got rich off apartheid and then he left SA when apartheid was ended. He's also accused someone of being a pedophile for being more heroic than him. The man is human garbage.

- schwartzworld 6y agoLol cops are literally grabbing unarmed protesters off the street in Portland right now. Americans are living in a failed capitalist state.
- dash2 6y agoTry to stay on topic, buddy.
