My friend at Pixar says they've slowly dismantled all the good things and benefits at Pixar after Disney bought them. Disney+ was built by the acquisition of BAMTech I believe. Maybe they have more autonomy like AWS does inside of Amazon.
- jedberg 6y agoD+ was literally built by BAMTech using the same tech that powers HBOGo and MLB streaming. I think the Pixar thing has more to do with their management, namely John Lassater, moving south to head up Disney Animation, which did extremely well when he took over. Apparently they're doing even better under Jennifer Lee, who took over for him when he left/was ousted.
