Trust me, we know. I speak for central/eastern Europe: where Deutsche Telekom has a big market share you can bet they formed a cartel and the prices for phones are higher than in western Europe. (edit) Also: basically nothing of relevance happened in Europe after Volkswagen diesel scandal... I wonder why.
