I am not sure about this. There is a lot of physics other than nuclear going on (rad-hydro,hydrodynamics and atomic physics at HED, etc.)

- hchz 6y agoThis is right on - understanding the equation of state, in extremis, is critical in characterizing the kinetics on the way to disassembly. The metallic phases generated during implosion don't exist in a power reactor.
