I am surprised when people use pickle NOT as a last resort. For numeric data, H5 is nice. For configs, JSON is pretty much a standard. For Python code... well,

I am surprised when people use pickle NOT as a last resort. For numeric data, H5 is nice. For configs, JSON is pretty much a standard. For Python code... well, nothing beats Python code.
