I did it before for weight loss, it worked amazingly, but the weight came back on just as easily. It would have to be a permanent lifestyle change, and I'm not convinced that's safe.
- mirsadm 6y agoWhat makes you think that it isn't safe? I guess the other question is what makes you sure that another diet is safe?
- nsl73 6y agoIt’s a really extreme diet. I would be concerned with the fat intake, the cholesterol intake, and limits on certain fruits and vegetables.
- PudgePacket 6y agoYour body makes more cholesterol than you get from diet, it's more complicated than just "cholesterol high = bad". Also would encourage you to read up on recent literature about fats. The "low fat = healthy" fad hasn't held up for some time. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0735109720356874 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S073510972... > The recommendation to limit dietary saturated fatty acid (SFA) intake has persisted despite mounting evidence to the contrary. Most recent meta-analyses of randomized trials and observational studies found no beneficial effects of reducing SFA intake on cardiovascular disease (CVD) and total mortality, and instead found protective effects against stroke.
- randomchars 6y agoThis is true for every diet. If you get gain weight on your current lifestyle, start dieting and go back after you lost it, you'll gain that weight back. There's no magic pill, if your current lifestyle makes you fat, you need a lifestyle change.
- shlant 6y agoIMO any extremely restrictive diet is not sustainable and therefor not a real, long-term solution for health
