I always find it funny when I see a claim that blue LEDs were invented in the 1990s. My 1985 VW Golf used one for the high beam indicator.

I always find it funny when I see a claim that blue LEDs were invented in the 1990s. My 1985 VW Golf used one for the high beam indicator.
- reaperducer 6y agoMy 1984 VW Rabbit had a high beam indicator that looked like a blue LED, but it was actually just a super-bright regular light bulb behind a blue piece of plastic.
- mNovak 6y agoYou can tell old car dash indicators are not LED because they actually put off a lot of heat
