This is doubtful. From what I recall of that era, Flash was a memory hog, and sometimes a CPU hog. Why is my tab/browser hanging? Flash. Also, at the time of the Flash ban, Jobs pushed HTML5, H.264, and native as alternatives (only the latter really gives control).
