(1) Many comment writers on this site have been predicting the replacement of AMD64 with ARM in personal computers for about 12 years. (2) Apple's announcement had no discernible effect on Intel's market cap, which, even after adjusting for inflation, is higher today than it has ever been except for an interval of about 2 or 3 years at the end of the dot-com boom. (I used a CPI calculator, a market-cap chart and one of my eyeballs to estimate the duration of this interval.)
