I like to describe it as each letter oscillating in and out of different letter eigenstates, appearing to smoothly interpolate between various letters. Once you look directly at a letter, you collapse the letter to the correct state. The letters are like 98% in the correct state, but contain small components of other letters, giving a breathing/morphing effect like what you would see on shrooms.
