What does that mean?
- vbezhenar 6y agoI guess something like Intel PC which would receive power over thunderbolt and use some protocol to communicate with "host" OS. I never heard anything like it, but that's an interesting idea.
- protomyth 6y agoIt happened a lot in the old days. The Z80 card for the Apple II, Acorn had a bus, Mac had an Apple II card, etc.
- perardi 6y agoI think they're asking “can you hang an entire x86 system off of Thunderbolt like you can an eGPU, and then have x86 binaries execute there?” Which, no? Probably? If your goal is to run Windows, it’d be cheaper and easier to just buy a Windows box and then screenshare into it.
- protomyth 6y agoI was more thinking of a Stick without the graphics or I/O. Kinda like the old coprocessor card in some of the early PCs.
