Maybe I'm an optimist, but Valve doesn't release games unless they are very happy with it. HL:A was excellent and I don't see why HL3, if it does come out, would be Vaporwave. Valve heavily tests their games internally and if it is not a huge success, they will not go forward with it. Yes, I do realize they did release Artifact, but that suffered more from economic issues, which internal play testing don't really catch.
