If the enemy doesn't know you're there, you don't need to go fast.
- Alupis 6y agoIt's what these guys and gals are trained to do. Ya, it's dangerous. They do have systems that help and/or automate parts though. Going fast into and out of AO is the way you stay alive.
- jessaustin 6y agoConversely, if you're fast enough you don't care who knows.
- fredophile 6y agoGoing fast gives them less time to figure out that you're there. That's not always the right call but it is a consideration.
- redis_mlc 6y agoActually the US Air Force has had a period where NOE was used after rivals had operational high-altitude SAMs. The current doctrine is to spend billions for radar-absorbing aircraft.
- jyounker 6y agoif the enemy knows you’re there but doesn’t know exactly where then it’s a huge benefit to get in and out as quickly as possible. it’s also a huge advantage if the enemy is moving fast and you know where he is, but you don’t want them to know that you’re coming at them.
