Thinking About Groups
- KevBurnsJr 18y agoAgree.
- edw519 18y agoThe point is, every group is different, so the idea of one particular group software solving everyone's problem is never going to work. You can say that about any kind of software. Your choices are: - buy a package and settle for the lowest common denominator - write custom code - get a customizable platform and shoot for the best of both worlds
- wumi 18y agoI would say Fred is arguing against his own desire for comments to be less fragmented. Just as the 'groups' by those portals are different, those reading his blog also read in groups, such as the HN group here. I'm not sure I see the sense in taking comments out of their group context and mashing them all together.
- aditya 18y agoInterestingly, groups can use Ning for all of this, can't they. It comes built in with all the stuff talked about?
