I used to use a 486-33 as a router/firewall setup with Smoothwall (I think) as the OS. This was probably about 2003 when ADSL was a new thing and there weren't any affordable dedicated routers on the consumer market. Also used to run a Hackintosh setup on a Samsung NC10 netbook.
