Even aside from the visual aspect which I still don't think is great (although the old reddit is famously quite ugly), the new site just chugs constantly. I'm on a decently powerful machine and it's intolerably sluggish. Thankfully there is respite in third party apps. I use Apollo, but there are many good options that push the new "features" to the side or omit them entirely.
