- tick_tock_tick 6y agoThe Chinese are so overt about it; it's almost insulting at-least Russia has the good grace to attempt to hide their actions.
- annoyingnoob 6y agoAre you sure this isn't some kind of retaliation or leverage by the current Administration? I don't trust TikTok but banning it seems like a step too far.
- mc32 6y agoWasn’t that by and large dismissed by gov as well as by the private platforms? Maybe tik-tok is different and maybe now people have that tool built into their disinformation arsenal... who knows...
- elliekelly 6y agoI don’t use TikTok so please excuse my ignorance. Is the platform (allegedly) a national security threat because it’s a major vector for foreign state disinformation (similar to Facebook, Twitter and Reddit) or because it’s a vector of foreign state information gathering/spying?
- sdinsn 6y agoA vector of foreign state information gathering/spying
- VBprogrammer 6y agoI have never installed tiktoc myself but I've never seen anything approaching information, nevermind disinformation. Isn't it all silly dances set to irritatingly catchy music and funny animal videos?
