The OP claims to have been defrauded by (i) an online investment company and (ii) a hacker he hired to steal his money back for him. He is looking to hire someone to steal his money back for him and is not willing to pay in advance.
He appears to be under the impression that this is a discussion board for criminals rather than (aspiring) entrepreneurs.
Anyone fancy finding out if there's an FBI / other law enforcement e-mail address I can forward his e-mail to? I don't particularly fancy filling out a long online form.
- phlux 16y agoWait, so he comes to HN looking for a hacker to steal money for him, which you (rightly) point out is wrong and are interested in forwarding his email address to the FBI - yet you yourself are posting on HN looking for a hacker to find an FBI email address for YOU because you're too lazy to fill out a form. Sound funny at all to you? :)
- mooism2 16y agoNo, I posted to HN what I learned from e-mailing the OP. My motive was to sate the curiosity of anyone who wondered exactly what job the OP had in mind. I did fill in an FBI form the other week (technically not an FBI form --- some organisation funded by the FBI and others to investigate online crime). It was long and tedious. I don't fancy filling it in again, particularly as today I have a rotten cold. But ultimately I haven't lost $20k to offshore scam merchants, so I'm not particularly fussed whether the OP gets a talking to from law enforcement or not. Asking whether anyone knew of an appropriate FBI e-mail address was just an aside at the end. I don't know why you thought it was the main point of my comment.
- mooism2 16y agoWhat's funny is that I just suggested to him that he go and ask at 4chan.
