If you're seeing Gemini as a "distribution channel", it's... probably not really for you? What's there, right now, is a community of people, sharing ideas and talking to each other. Pretty much all the content there was made to be shared with that community. And I very much have the impression they'd like to keep it that way as long as possible.
- rikroots 6y agoI'm glad they're building Gemini - a monoculture of anything is an unhealthy environment and projects like Gemini can help break up our current HTML/CSS/JS monoculture. But it is also a distribution channel: a method for content creators to get their content out to content consumers. At the moment the 'coolest' way for poets to share their poems with their readers is through Instagram[1]. I've tried it; I don't like it. But I don't resent the poets who have made the channel work for them - anything that gets people reading more poems is a Win in my book!
