how important is it to have LinkedIn? as somebody just starting their career, I've never really been told to have it but it's as if it's sort of assumed. in general I don't have other social media, and if LinkedIn isn't that important then I'd rather not have it, too.
- 121789 6y agoI wouldn't say it's necessary, but it has been very valuable for me. I got my previous job through a linkedin posting and I regularly have recruiters reach out for interesting jobs on the platform.
- driverdan 6y agoIt's nice to have as a resume page. You don't need to use the mobile app or connect with anyone to use it like that. As a hiring manager it makes looking at work history easier. I can click through to companies I don't recognize to learn more about them. Not having a LinkedIn profile wouldn't be a negative for me, it just makes my life easier.
