I hate this kind of argument - of course the parties care mainly about their own power - they are literally political parties. Obama's policy was quite different from Bush's in many ways (domestically especially) and similar in other ways (say wrt the Middle East). The Democratic party also did not have control of both house and Senate for more than 2 years. During those 2 years the ACA was passed. What are you getting at? Do you believe that because both parties care first about power means they are equally bad? Or even close?
