It doesn't seem that many see it as important. I see lots of loud attention seeking behaviour, vulgar displays of material goods etc.
- Tiltowait-- 6y agoThis is them displaying high status among their peer group. YOU see it as a low status marker because you're higher than them. Being able to look down on people is a sure sign of being higher relative status. It's one reason why we humans heartily enjoy it so much.
