This is a big topic, so you really can't expect someone to do your homework for you if you actually want to understand. Long story short Facebook had already shown themselves to be duplicitous and untrustworthy on the user privacy front for more than a decade, then various other dark sides of social media made themselves most evident on Facebook, and Zuckerberg has done a poor job at responding to those challenges.
