I like the idea, and have always been displeased by the lame underpowered inverters they often put in autos. That said, a compact, quiet 2.5kw inverting generator that weighs about 50lbs will only set you back about $300. Hopefully the addon is comparably priced.

However, it weighs over 200lbs, and is really noisy. It runs 9 hours at idle. I wonder how long the ford will run at low wattages, and how the gallons per hour compares between the two. (Presumably the hybrid truck does much better at low wattage than the generator or the conventional truck).
