Most businesses don't make sense for VC because they can't grow at the rate VC needs in order to work or reach the size. Pick any large industry and look at the software used. It is probably not great (there is a difference between old software that works or works well enough and badly designed software that does not do its job well). Within that lies what is actually interesting, which is customer pain, and potential customers who will pay to have that solved.
