Venture Capital has a sweet spot where they focus on Capital-intense (obvious) products, preferably software. (Check out this video: https://youtu.be/vErPgQF3N38 https://youtu.be/vErPgQF3N38) Many National Defense projects won't work for VC for a variety of reasons. Some can, but security clearance and regulations usually scare VCs away. Many service based companies... not because they can't (strictly speaking) but VC has a system in place that doesn't gel well with service based approaches. Anything that would take a long time to grow won't attract VC funds either.
