This is completely wrong. I still remember when my Windows 95/98 computer took 10~15 minutes to boot, when launching everything from Word to a game took minutes of waiting, when installing a game from a CD could take one hour or when loading an HTML page with no images took dozens of seconds. God help you if you had to load an image, or even worse: a photo or animated gif.
