Agree and I also struggle with the docs. The examples are so trivial that they’re useless if you’re trying to use the examples to learn how to use them in context. I think the examples for any() are any(true, false) and any(true, true). Fair play but not super helpful if I’m new and trying to understand how this fits into a typical jq filter.
