Can you point out exactly where the contradiction is? > What does "deep into life process" even mean? The problem here is modern science only looks at what can be measured. Life has parts which can not be measured and thus are missed by science. This is the same when you ask to define something - what if there is something which is not possible to define in words but at the same time one can experience it? It is still science but not modern, physical, measurable science.
