I think the deluge of information would get old really quickly. Two dimensional flashing lights really pales in comparison to the real world. And I think having that be in your face all the time decreases the experience of the real world instead of augmenting it. Just think of how it feels to look at your phone halfway through a long hike. I always feel it lessens the magic, and introduces low grade anxiety.
