While it may be questionable action, I don't believe he did anything wrong in the spirit of the license nor legally. In fact, the original author was sloppy only mentioning the license type in the package.json and failing to include the full text with the copyright notice. Which reminds me, I should probably add the copyright and license text on my own stuff. Not that I wish to be recognized but the disclaimer is good...
