Try mollom (http://mollom.com/ http://mollom.com/). It uses text analysis for the most part and only uses CAPTCHA if its not sure. Even though I don't have a huge site it blocks a lot for me.
- jarin 16y agoCloudFlare (http://cloudflare.com http://cloudflare.com) also works great, since it does a quick Project Honeypot check on any suspicious visitors (along with a bunch of other good stuff).
