I think there is a lot more that video apps can do to take the edge off or to make people feel more comfortable in meetings. Right now I think most tools are very rudimentary. Full disclosure, I work for https://team.video https://team.video and we're trying to make meetings more enjoyable. Just simple things like having built in agendas, games, and non-verbal feedback I think can go a long way to making a remote meeting way less painful and help build trust among your colleagues.
