- Markoff 6y agoublock origin makes pages load faster I'm curious why it is still not built in instead other nonsense they integrate
- mxschumacher 6y agoGoogle would not allow Mozilla to do this
- shultays 6y agoHow? Do you mean they would cancel their search deal? Does Google have any power over Mozilla?
- mxschumacher 6y agoIf past revenue numbers are any indication [0], then Google as a lot of power of Mozilla. They are privacy focused, so I suppose they don't make money through the sale of personal data; also their services are free. Unless there is some other revenue source I'm missing, there seems to be a significant dependency on search engines and similar partners. - Nextgrid 6y agoFirefox's Tracking Protection is a fraud and has a whitelist of domains to allow, which include Google and Facebook properties despite them being the biggest threats to privacy.
- Karunamon 6y agoWhich would break Facebook and Google login for a massive portion of the web (since those buttons are usually embeds). If you want to block them yourself, fine, but it's not the browser maker's job to make that decision for the user.
- greendestiny_re 6y agoCompared to the decision to integrate Pocket?

- dependenttypes 6y agoI do not get this. You would run a blocker anyway, the tracking protection is just a half-assed measure for these not bothering to install such an addon.
