I read somewhere (may have been coding horror), that it's not that most people can't do fizzbuzz or other simple problems, 99% of programmers can do it. Most good developers are already employed, so there's this constant pool of unemployed programmers (the 1% who can't do fizzbuzz) applying for all the jobs they can.
