I have a friend who is an editor on a topical semi-daily current-affairs show on Quibi. It's all done manually and they now have a semi-established style now, however a lot of it is cropping or shrink-to-fit with a background. The fictional series, however, are shot with an almost 1:1 ratio since the safe-zone is ridiculously small.
