I have a few apps that expose logs over a http endpoint. I have to download them every time to view them and I cannot tail them.
Anyone has recommendations for an app to tail log files over http?
- dharmab 6y agoCan you pipe httpie into tail?
- jkbr 6y agoYes, you can.
- chasd00 6y agoi bet some combination of netcat and tail would do it. https://www.commandlinefu.com/commands/view/11914/tail-a-log-file-over-the-network https://www.commandlinefu.com/commands/view/11914/tail-a-log...
- jupp0r 6y agocurl, tee, grep, less
- Jakob 6y ago`tail` is just loading the last bytes of a file. If the server supports byte ranges you can do this with `curl` over http as well: Last 100 bytes of a website: $ curl -sr -100 https://example.com An approximation of `tail -f`: $ watch -n10 curl -sr -100 https://example.com
