They could afford to make this a bit thicker and more rounded. At this size, its ability to fit snugly into your palm (no pun intended) is more important than any perceived benefit of thinness. I personally believe such "egg-shaped" devices will become the dominant hand-held form factor, with tablets as supplementary devices.
- hawski 6y agoI'm eyeing Unihertz Jelly 2. It has soap form factor with 2000mAh battery, but sadly it has Mediatek SoC. https://www.ogadget.com/x/jelly-2 https://www.ogadget.com/x/jelly-2?
- onli 6y agoThe first one was not great, the display specifically. Maybe that changed? I'd wait for a review on that. That Android does not work well with a device that small should remains as an issue, but at least the gesture controls it has now could help a bit.
- cl3misch 6y agoWhat the is the drawback of a Mediatek SoC?
- DyslexicAtheist 6y agopoor security & quality. it's ok for doing hw compartmentalization (throwaway/burner) but they die like flies.
- hedora 6y agoThat looks great, but this early review suggestS they skimped on the battery again: https://knowtechie.com/?p=122471 https://knowtechie.com/?p=122471 If so, that’s too bad. I’d like one as my daily driver, but it sounds like it won’t cut it. I wonder if it could be underclocked or something. Why can’t they make it even thicker?
- gear54rus 6y agoHow are you going to carry something thick in your pocket? It's going to have pretty strong forces applied to it if that pocket bends.
