I think the problem is that there isn't really anywhere to look for funding for meaningful research. The public sector isn't really picking up the slack right now.
- runarberg 6y agoWell, many government agencies offer funding for research. That seems like a good system.
- WalterBright 6y agoLots of universities have large endowments, which is used for research.
