Not at all. I rather wrote this to illustrate how critical legacy software is created, operated and evolved over time, but it seems that readers can't get past immediately defending/bashing Perl.
- daneel_w 6y agoBut your article is immediately and repeatedly bashing it, for no practical reason, is why some are immediately rolling their eyes and defending Perl.
- user5994461 6y agoDefinitely not the intention. I've removed the one sentence in the intro that may have sparked some misunderstanding. I shall note that HN moderators edited the title 3 times making it more or less outrageous, nothing I can do about that.
