> If taking the geometric mean of all 172 tests on this AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X workstation, using WSL2 yielded about 87% of the performance of running bare metal Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on the same hardware.
So many questions:
- Why a geometric mean? The Geometric mean of ubuntu is 73.64, what does that mean?
- different tests have different units. Sometimes small results are better in one test, but vice-versa in another test. Are these being lumped together? Or is this just a mean of a subset of tests?
- Why is a larger geometric mean better? Why is a ratio of geometric means a good way to measure relative performance?
