I am an even poorer proofreader. See my edit. You can't ignore the overall ramifications of the policy just because you believe that the policymaker has a particular nefarious motivation. And you shouldn't box people out of the debate by accusing them of hatred just because they don't condemn a policy that you see as being hatefully motivated.
