- AnanasAttack 6y agoPeople do whatever they can to "win" on these benchmarks, so the resulting code is often not idiomatic
- brabel 6y agoThe recommendation is to write only idiomatic code that implements a certain algorithm without tricks: https://salsa.debian.org/benchmarksgame-team/benchmarksgame/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md#style-guide https://salsa.debian.org/benchmarksgame-team/benchmarksgame/... Did you actually see programs that do not follow the guidelines or you're just stating this as what you would expect?
- jashmatthews 6y agohttps://benchmarksgame-team.pages.debian.net/benchmarksgame/program/fasta-lua-3.html https://benchmarksgame-team.pages.debian.net/benchmarksgame/... Templating Lua here is probably borderline really.
- igouy 6y agoSeems like those Lua fasta programs should be removed.
- igouy 6y agoWhat someone else considers to be "idiomatic", you might not consider to be "idiomatic".
