Didn't that feature originate in Excel?
- DanBC 6y agoI think "AutoFill" first appeared in Excel 4 (1992), and was extended in Excel 5. https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=imoPAQAAMAAJ&q=excel+4.0+autofill&dq=excel+4.0+autofill&redir_esc=y&hl=en https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=imoPAQAAMAAJ&q=excel+4.0... I've found searching the web for things like "when was the fill handle introduced" or "who invented the fill handle" or "what's the history of the fill handle" gives hopeless results.
- quietbritishjim 6y agoThe parent comment is specifically about Google Sets-style autocomplete of a text list, not just autocomplete in general.
